What does RCV Mean?
RCV stands for Replacement Cost Value. This is the total Budget your insurance company has set for the replacement of the damages to your home.
Is it too cold to roof my house?
Maybe. The manufacturers of asphalt shingles typically want around 40 degrees to recommend going ahead with an install. Shingles made with SBS can be installed down to 0 degrees. Tile, slate. and many commercial applications can be installed in almost any temperature.
The roofer that knocked on my door said I don't have to pay my deductible. is that true?
Most likely not. The only entity that can "waive" or "eat" your deductible is your insurance company. Any contractor that offers to waive your deductible is offering to commit insurance fraud on your behalf. In some limited instances an insurance company will have a special program to waive a deductible, or you as a homeowner may choose to not do all the work on your claim, using those other funds to pay your deductible.
How long will the job take?
A normal re-roof can be completed in 1-2 days. Some larger homes may take longer.
